Extra curricular activities are central to the well balanced education provided by Saint Catherine's College. These activities are wide ranging and include debating in Irish and English, public speaking, drama, concerts, orchestra, community relations quizzes, netball, camogie, tennis, Gaelic football, hockey, golf, horse riding and photographic club.
Over the last number of years the school has produced the musicals Oklahoma, The Student Prince, West Side Story, The King and I, Boy Mozart, Brigadoon, The Sound of Music, The Mikado, My Fair Lady and most recently staged a performance of The Crucible.
The school takes great pride in their pro-active involvement in European projects particularly the long established French and Spanish exchanges.
One of the most recent significant achievements has been the development of the H.U.G. project - Helping Uganda Grow. This form of extra curricular activity, whereby students develop their sense of social justice, has always been fostered since the formation of the College in 1973 and has included other projects such as School Aid Romania, the Lourdes Project and the Roehampton Venture.
The College has also a distinguished record in the National Mock Bar Trial competition having made history by being the first all-ability school in the U.K. and the first school in Northern Ireland to have won the U.K. title in 1997. In recent years the dedicated 'legal eagles' were second on a number of occasions.
The wide range of options and varied programmes indicated above encourage students to extend their horizons beyond the immediate, in preparation for life in the 21st Century.
