RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Saint Catherine's College has as its first aim the espousal and exposition of Christian values; it offers its pupils the opportunity and expertise to realise their moral potential; it encourages service to others and the exercise of charity in all senses of the word. Religious Education is compulsory for all pupils. The approach combines both information and formation. The subject is linked closely with personal, social and health education. The Christian ethos of the school is celebrated at liturgies, assemblies, prayer services and retreats.

The uniqueness of Saint Catherine's College Christian ethos is strongly reflected in the Sacred Heart philosophy. Ms Olive Delahunty is Director of Chaplaincy services and through her work with students and staff plays an important role in the pursuit of the aims of Sacred Heart education.
