At our Lenten Assembly I remember Olive our Chaplain saying "we begin our Lenten journey in ashes and end it in Triumph."I find Lent hard but that makes it a challenge to tackle! There's lots happening in school to keep us focussed on our Lenten journey. We began with ashes on Ash Wednesday, we had a whole school Mass in the Cathedral at 9am. It was strange and wonderful to see all our students and teachers going around with a big ash cross on their foreheads!! We have had a Mass each week of Lent, some are in the Prayer Room and you can attend if you are free. We have had one of our big ¡¥in school¡¦ Masses last Monday. Fr. Tommy McNulty one of our chaplains celebrated it with us. We will have another one next Monday, which Fr. John Gates will celebrate with us. We have no venue that accommodates the whole school community so our two big Masses mean have the school can attend one week and the other half the next week. Each Year group has had an Assembly on Lent and our 6th Formers have had Lenten Penitential Services. What I really find good is that a big wooden cross has been erected in the Crush Hall and in the Barat building foyer. These crosses have little paper crosses stuck to them. You come to the cross with your class or alone and take down a little paper cross praying for the intention of the person who stuck it to the big cross then you stick another little paper cross onto the big cross praying your intention and so on¡K. So that means my intention is prayed for twice over.Lisa Ryan Year 11 student
