Saint Catherine's College has as its first aim the espousal and exposition of Christian values; it offers its pupils the opportunity and expertise to realise their moral potential; it encourages service to others and the exercise of charity in all senses of the word.
Religious Education is compulsory for all pupils. The approach combines both information and formation. The Christian ethos of the school is celebrated at liturgies, assemblies, prayer services and retreats. The uniqueness of Saint Catherine's College Christian ethos is strongly reflected in the Sacred Heart philosophy. The Director of Chaplaincy plays an important role in the pursuit of the aims of Sacred Heart education.
The Prayer Room provides an ambience of peace and calm, away from the pressures of our busy modern world. Students are free to visit the Prayer Room at lunch time under the guidance of members of the school ethos committee.
Faith in Action lies at the heart of what Religious Education in St Catherine’s College represents. Pupils have the opportunity to enjoy a living relationship with God through their care for others.
