St Catherine’s College past pupil, Ashton Palmer, returned to the school to celebrate their recent success in being awarded the prestigious JP McManus All-Ireland Scholarship for high academic achievement at A Level, having achieved an impressive full profile of A*/A grades in Art and Design, English Literature and Religion.
The JP McManus All-Ireland Scholarship provides financial support to high achieving students and scholarships are awarded each year to the top performing 'A' level students in post primary schools or further education colleges in Northern Ireland. For the fourth consecutive year St Catherine’s College students have been awarded this scholarship based on high academic achievement.
Ashton is currently reading English Literature and Language in St Peter’s College, Oxford. The scholarship will run for the duration of their degree programme and is a richly deserved reward for their diligence and immense creative talent. As a published poet, Ashton was St Catherine’s College first ever ‘Writer in Residence,’ providing creative inspiration and encouragement to other pupils.
All in St Catherine’s are immensely proud of Ashton’s success in being awarded this fantastic scholarship.

Congratulations to Ashton on this incredible achievement, Geometry Dash Lite! As a former scholarship recipient myself, I can attest to how transformative these opportunities are. It’s amazing to see students excel and pursue their passions!
