A Sweet Success: St Catherine’s Students Shine in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory


The recent school production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory proved to be a truly spectacular showcase of creativity, dedication and talent. Performing eight shows in The Market Place Theatre for over two thousand golden ticket winners, students captivated audiences with energetic performances, imaginative storytelling and a magical atmosphere that brought Roald Dahl’s beloved world to life on stage.


From Willy Wonka to the Oompa Loompas, the sassy, spoiled children and their long-suffering parents, the dynamic chorus line, colourful costumes, lively choreography and playful personalities, this show had it all! Excitement, emotion and humour in every scene earned cheers, laughter and spontaneous applause from bedazzled audiences.


From dazzling musical numbers to inventive set designs, every detail reflected the incredible commitment of staff and students alike. Teachers and support crews devoted countless hours to rehearsals, staging and costume creation, ensuring a polished and professional production.


The cast displayed outstanding confidence and skill, with each student shining in their role and demonstrating true teamwork and passion for the performing arts.


This unforgettable production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a golden ticket experience for all involved — and a wonderful celebration of the school’s creative spirit and community ethos, a fact alluded to as the curtain fell on the final performance when school principal, Mrs Noeleen Tiffney paid tribute to the incredible talent and dedication of students and staff alike.
