Coláiste Chaitríona Year 10 pupils, along with their teachers, parents and guardians celebrated the many successes and accolades achieved throughout their Key Stage Three experience in their recent Prize Giving ceremony.
They were joined by Guest Speaker for the event, Lord Mayor, Councillor Mary O’Dowd, who was welcomed as a public representative, a community advocate and a proud and dedicated mother whose three children have all experienced the positive benefits of a Coláiste Chaitríona Irish Medium Education. Through her involvement in civic and social initiatives, she has championed the voices of young people and encouraged them to engage with issues that shape the society in which they live. As a champion of community, education and the Irish language, Lord Mayor O’Dowd offered words of encouragement and praise to the pupils and spoke to them about the rich value of their Irish Medium education and how proud everyone was of their sterling achievements. To conclude, she encouraged the Year 10 students of Coláiste Chaitríona to remain committed to excellence in every aspect of their lives.
Mrs Tiffney congratulated all of our Coláiste Chaitríona Year 10 pupils on their excellent efforts and achievements throughout their Key Stage Three experience and spoke of her immense pride in our pupils’ progress during Key Stage 3, particularly their devotion to the Irish Language and their achievements as bilingual students.
