Saint Catherine’s College Senior Prize-giving

Saint Catherine’s College recently held its annual Senior Prize-giving event to celebrate the completion of significant academic milestones by students. Guest speaker for the event was Mrs Faustina Graham, Chief Inspector of the Education and Training Inspectorate. She gave an inspiring and motivating speech and spoke to students about the importance of education in shaping one’s future. She reminded them all to be proud of their achievements and of themselves.
Principal, Mrs Noeleen Tiffney, paid tribute to pupils on achieving such incredible results. She thanked parents and governors for their support and praised teachers for their part in pupils’ success.
The Kingston Cup and The Madeleine Sophie Cup are presented to those students who achieve excellence in A Level and GCSE examinations. This year The Kingston Cup was presented to six students, (Feena McCreesh, Aimee Mullan, Rachel McGrane, Cliodhna Agnew, Leah Faherty and Eve Furphy), who all achieved at least 2A* grades at A-Level, whilst The Madeleine Sophie Cup was awarded to two students (Niamh Cullen and Blaithin Mohan), who achieved an impressive 10 A* grades at GCSE. Senior Prize-giving celebrated the stellar success of the senior pupils of Coláiste Chaitríona.
