Saint Catherine’s College has been recognised in the LGFA Ulster Schools All-Star line-up with awards respectively for Emily Druse and Chloe Kelly. School Coach, Mrs Ciara Marley, nominated six pupils for All-Stars, who were then put through their paces at several competitive trials; Sixth Form pupils Emily and Chloe emerged victorious, earning the prestigious All-Star titles.

Emily Druse, who is studying for her A-Levels, has already experienced great success: an U16 Ulster Schools Title; an U16 All-Ireland Schools Title 2019; the Armagh Harps Minor Club Division 1 Championship 2019 and, most recently, winning the Senior Club Division 1 Championship. Emily was thrilled at the recognition: “This means so much to me, I’ve had so many opportunities and successes. I’m so thankful for sport in my life, it helps me achieve balance.” Chloe Kelly, also an integral player in the winning U16 teams, acknowledges the contribution of the inspirational coaching and commitment of Mrs Ciara Marley: “The support of the school and the coaching commitment of Mrs Ciara Marley inspired us to succeed”. Mrs Marley is currently on maternity leave.

The girls are pictured with two All-Star staff members and past pupils, Mrs Caoimhe Morgan and Miss Fionnuala McKenna. Miss F.Mckenna is an Armagh Senior county player and winning Captain of Armagh Senior Harps Club Champions 2020. As a past St. Catherine’s College Schools All Star and All Ireland Schools winner 2007, she is thrilled at the success of these pupils and their coaches. Mrs Morgan is no stranger to success either. As Armagh Ladies’ longest serving player - after 19 years’ service - and Former Armagh Ladies Captain, she has also taken home awards, like the prestigious 2006 LGFA All Star, the International Rules Player of 2006 and a staggering 4 interprovincial titles.

In line with Covid regulations, there will be no ceremony this year, however, the girls were thrilled to receive the award trophies, their jerseys, All-Star posters and vouchers delivered to the College.
