CELEBRATING SPORTING SUCCESS

We were delighted to welcome back two of our past pupils and Armagh Ladies footballers, Eve Lavery and Maeve Ferguson, who visited with the Ulster Cup and Division One League trophy - both of which Armagh proudly won this year.

In addition to celebrating the success of Eve and Maeve, we also recognised the remarkable achievements of our own pupils, who contributed to Armagh Ladies' victory in winning the U16 Ulster and All-Ireland trophies, as well as the Ulster Minor Cup this year.

Mrs Ciara Marley, Head of Sport, expressed how proud we are of both our current and past pupils. She emphasised that they serve as true role models, embodying the values of our school in every aspect of life. Mrs Marley highlighted the significance of celebrating women in sport and encouraged all students to strive to be positive role models for those around them.

Eve and Maeve spoke about their experiences in school sport and how it has helped shape them as individuals. They addressed our Year 8 girls and each of our school’s ladies football teams, sharing valuable insights during a question-and-answer session. The discussion touched on important topics such as work-life balance, time management and the role sport plays in their daily lives.

At the end of the event, our team captains presented Eve and Maeve with tokens of appreciation for their time and inspiring words. Mrs Marley also extended her gratitude to both girls for taking the time to visit and inspire the next generation of athletes.
