St. Catherine’s Eco-Club are All-Ireland Junior Eco-Unesco Environmentalists of the Year!

Pictured here are some of the committed environmentalists who belong to the St. Catherine’s College Eco Club. These pupils designed a 1.3km nature trail, The Langan Trail, around their school with signage that highlights the biodiversity of the environment on their school grounds. They have won two awards: the Biodiversity Junior Winners 2024 and the overall award, the All-Ireland Eco-Unesco joint Junior Young Environmentalists of 2024.
EC0-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Award Programme, a competition in which the school has previously triumphed, is a prestigious national competition. Pupils had to launch a social media campaign to raise awareness of their campaign. The pupils have had high profile support for their work. BBC Weather Presenter Barra Best praised their efforts on his social media feeds, wishing the team luck in pursuit of their goals, even sending them a letter of encouragement. Having won the semi-final at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, a team representing the St. Catherine’s College Eco-Club, made the trip to the Royal Dublin Convention Centre for the final where over 100 schools participated in the showcase. Pictured below are the team receiving their award at the event.

I'll check the article title for language clues. "Coláiste Chaitríona" and "St Catherine's College, Armagh" indicate Irish/Northern Ireland context, so I'll keep the comment in English but reference the Irish-language elements. St Catherine's and Coláiste Chaitríona sharing space under Cor Unum is a lovely nod to unity. I've been looking for resou https://cowork-code.com
